8 years of GST: CBIC celebrates Sunday on bike '

New -Delhi, May 18 (IANS). After completing eight years of GST, the Central Board of Customs (CBIC) arranged a nationwide cycle called ‘Sunday on Cycle’ with the ‘Fit India Movement’ on Sunday. CBIC member (GST) Shashank Priya emphasized the transformative effect of GST on the Indian tax system. He emphasized how GST integrated about 30 different indirect taxes into a single transparent tax structure, which made tax administration and compliance with both businesses and citizens. Priya also notified the participants of the important benefits given to small taxpayers through initiatives such as GST composition scheme and the quarter return scheme (QRMP), which reduces the compliance burden and does the ease of business. According to the Ministry of Finance, this major event was arranged at the Major Dhyanchand National Stadium in New -Delhi, in which more than 100 CGST commissioners across the country also participate. CGST’s Mumbai and Pune zone also included celebrities in Bollywood such as Sunil Shetty, Milind Soman and John Abraham. At the venue in New -Delhi, a dedicated assistance desk “no about GST is made”, that is, “learn about GST” to join the participants and answer questions about GST.
