FinTech Giant Paytm has launched a new AI-powered feature called Playback, which turns users’ monthly spending data into a personalized rap overview-a move that has left and skeptical users on social media. The function, which is currently in its beta phase, uses artificial intelligence to turn the transaction history of last month into creative rap heifers. The Raps emphasize spending patterns on categories such as shopping, food, travel and aid programs, which add a light -hearted, musical turn to spending detection. Playing can be found in the ‘Balance & History’ section of the PayTM app. According to the company, the goal is to make financial insights more engaging and reliable, and to transform summaries of routine spending into an interactive and entertaining experience. Paytm said the function is being rolled out to choose high-transfer customers, and that it intends to improve the experience based on users’ feedback as part of the ongoing AI innovation journey. Mixed reactions online once the function has appeared online, it has caused a variety of reactions – from curiosity and entertainment to privacy concerns. One user said: “Here you will be privacy and unintentionally declare your timeline as well as where you spend money. However, this feature will be useful for scammers.” Another joke, “Paytm has released a feature to generate rap songs from your monthly expenses. I feel sorry for the shareholders. What’s the next, braai on the loan emis?” A third user found the feature entertaining but slightly rough around the edges, and wrote: “Paytm Monthly spent rap is fantastic, still needs a fine set, but pleasantly surprised.” Others were not convinced of its utility. “The function that no one asked for, the function is not so useful,” one remarks. Some users even playfully addressed Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma and said: ‘I could feel your energy in that rap, Vijayji. By the way, I heard that you are a storage house of high-octane energy! ‘ Although many people call the new AI rap a fun and creative approach to spending summaries, other questions have asked about the privacy and relevance of data, and they wonder if such ‘playful’ innovations of Paytm’s core Fintech services can lead.
Netizens Groove to Paytm’s AI rap about spending, asking users on social media. “What’s the next, fry it on EMIs?”
