Indian Railways will make major changes regarding the identity and safety of passengers. Since July 1, 2025, Aadhaar -based OTP (one -time password) has been made compulsory for Tatkal ticket booking. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced that only Aadhaar -verified users can book on IRCTC website and mobile app Tatkal tickets. According to the new guidelines issued by the Railways for booking on IRCTC, passenger OTP will get on his cellphone number while reporting on the IRCTC portal, which will only complete the ticket booking process by entering. This OTP will come on the same cellphone number that will be connected to the Aadhaar card. Its purpose is to stop false discussion and stop the abuse of immediate quota. Not only does it apply to counter- and agent discussion from July 15, but that the OTP -based Aadhaar identification is also obliged to discuss Tatkal tickets through the booking banks and authorized agents of the train station since July 15, 2025. These benefits will be prevented by the new system: ✅ False discussion will be prohibited. The black marketing of illegal tickets is stopped by agents. The accurate identity and detection of the passenger will be possible. Date your cellphone number from Aadhaar (if there is no link). To receive OTP, make sure your cellphone number is active. Enter the same number that links to Aadhaar while booking tickets. Share this story -tags
