Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday praised the growing alignment between government policy, management and private enterprises and called it a feature of India’s “progressive policy making and dynamic execution”. During the launch of Google’s Bharat AI Shakti initiative in New -Delhi, Sitharaman said the project reflected on how India’s digital ambitions were increasingly realized by close collaboration between public leadership and global technology firms. She cites the landing of new underwater internet cables in Andhra Pradesh as a vivid example of that partnership. “Several things can remain on paper, but execution happens only with visionary leadership,” Sitharaman said, Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modes Government with Driving a Wave of Enable Policy Reforms Since 2014. India AI Vision, meanwhile, welcomed the Minister of Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, who also spoke during the event, welcomed Google’s announcement of a $ 15 billion investment in India’s digital infrastructure and boosted it for the country’s AI ambitions. “It will be a long way to achieve the goals of our Indian AI vision,” he said. Vaishnaw has requested the business to help India’s technology labor force adapt to the changes that AI has brought. “It is very important to clinch and increase our IT professional people on a large, fast scale,” he said, adding that anxiety about AI’s impact on jobs can be addressed through training and new opportunities. He also suggested that the connection connections be expanded by the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, “a strategic location that can become the next major worldwide internet hub”, and suggests expanding the Subsea cables of Visakhapatnam to Myanmar to improve the connectivity for India’s northeast. Vaishnaw said the Bharat AI Shakti Hub could serve as a platform for developing a new category of digital services around AI, causing youth employment and innovation. He also welcomed Google’s participation in India’s upcoming Common Compute facility, which aims to expand domestic access to advanced AI computer infrastructure.
