Nitish Kumar made Bihar not a 'follower' but a 'leader' state in women empowerment: Neeraj Kumar

Patna, October 18 (IANS). Bihar Legislative Council Member and JDU Chief Spokesperson Neeraj Kumar on Saturday hit back at the misleading statements made by Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav regarding the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme. He said that it is extremely unfortunate that the leader of the opposition is trying to spread confusion among the women of Bihar by calling this scheme a ‘loan’ without any facts or documents. He clearly said that this scheme launched by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar government is completely a welfare initiative for the economic empowerment of women, the aim of which is to make every woman of the state self-reliant. JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said through social media communication that under this scheme, an amount of Rs 10,000 is given to female members of families from all parts of the state, Dalit, extremely backward, backward, minority and general community for employment of their choice. This amount is not a loan of any kind and will not be withdrawn at any stage. He said that till now this amount has been sent to the bank accounts of women of more than 1 crore 21 lakh families through DBT and many women have also started work through it. He said that women would receive additional assistance of Rs 2 lakh after being employed. Along with this, the state government will also provide support to women in the field of training, marketing and branding so that their products can find market at both state and country level. He said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has always given priority to social change and women empowerment in his political career. The result is that today Bihar has become the ‘Leader State’ of the country and not a ‘Follower State’. JDU leader Neeraj Kumar advised that Tejashwi Yadav should study the facts before making false allegations without studying. He sarcastically said that Tejashwi Yadav is doing politics of empowerment of his family while Nitish Kumar is working for the empowerment of the society. –IANS MNP/DSC Share this story Tags
