Trapped on camera: 22-year-old Youtuber swept away while filming roles at Duduma Waterfall in Odisha

A day of filming became tragic for a young Youtuber in Odisha after being swept away by strong streams in the Duduma Falls in the Capely district. The missing youth has been identified as 22-year-old Sagar Tudu, a resident of Berhampur in the Ganjam district, officials said on Sunday. According to police, Sagar traveled with his friend Abhijit Behera to Karlaput to create content for his YouTube channel, showing tourist destinations in the region. On Saturday afternoon, the duo filmed roles with a drone camera at the waterfall when the incident occurred. The authorities of the Machakunda Dam, after heavy rainfall in the Lamput area, released water after issuing warnings to residents downstream. Sagar, who was standing on a rock near the waterfall at the time, was suddenly caught off guard when the water level rose sharply. Witnesses said he struggled to keep his balance on the smooth rock before being swept away by the shrubing stream. Tourists and residents in the area tried to save him, but their efforts were unsuccessful, NDTV reports. Shortly thereafter, teams from Machakunda police and the fire department arrived and launched a search operation. However, the Youtuber could not be detected until late evening. The rescue operation is underway.
