The Nobel Committee, which selects the winners of the Nobel Prize, announced on Friday that the Peace Prize for the year 2025 was awarded to Maria Corina Machado, the opposition leader of Venenenzela, “for her tireless work that promotes democratic rights to the people of Venezuela and to make a fair and peaceful transition of dictatorship.” It comes in the wake of US President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly claimed to have the Nobel Prize for ‘Help’ over the past few months that he claims ‘wars’ all over the world. The Chairman of the Nobel Committee, Jørgen Watne Frydnes, was asked during the announcement of the 2025 Present Prize winner why Donald Trump was not considered the same, to which he replied: “This committee sits in a room full of the portraits of all winners, and the room is filled with courage and integrity.” Listen to what the chairman says at 15:16 minute of the video. “We base our decisions on the work and will of Alfred Nobel,” he also said. It is a developing story. Check out more updates later.
