Noida: Mobile theft and robbery gang caught, 5 arrested
Noida, October 20 (IANS). Noida Police Station Sector-49 busted an active gang involved in mobile phone theft and robbery and arrested five brutal accused. The police recovered a total of 11 stolen and robbed mobile phones, a scooter without a license plate and a motorcycle from their possession. The police took these steps based on local intelligence and confidential information. According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Deepanshu alias Deepu son of Mahipal (18 years), Chand Mohammed son of Rafiq (21 years), Kunal Kumar son of Chandan Prasad (20 years), Kunal Yadav son of Pappe Yadav (21 years) and Lalit Kumar son of Babbu Kumar (21 years). All of them were cordoned off and captured from the empty site behind Jalvayu Vihar. During police interrogation, it was revealed that some of these accused had pre-marked crowded or deserted roads for the commission of the crime. After this, they targeted people walking or talking while riding a bicycle or scooter with cell phones in their hands. As soon as they got a chance, they pounced, grabbed the cell phone and ran away. The stolen mobile phones were later sold at cheap prices. Even when they were caught, the accused tried to sell the mobile phone. According to police records, several serious cases have already been registered against the gang members. Several cases of BNS and NDPS Act have been registered against Dipanshu, Chand Mohammad and Kunal Kumar, while cases have been registered against Kunal Yadav and Lalit Kumar in Sector-49 police station. The police recovered 11 stolen and robbed mobile phones, an unnumbered scooter and a motorbike. Sector-49 police station has now started searching for other members and buyers associated with the gang.
