Artificial Intelligence .. Will his manufacturers be his first victim?
Programming workers may be closest to the loss of their work due to the development of artificial intelligence after research found that 62% of the code registered in the ‘GitHub’ library during 2023 was a machine. Nevertheless, some believe that this development may have a positive aspect by alleviating human burdens, with the possibility that machines become a source of funding for governments to support those affected by the loss of their work. In an interview with the “East Business Week” program, Mohamed Jawat, former CEO of the business sector at Google X, said that human intelligence has always been the primary element of excellence on the work field, which makes smart people more likely to lose their jobs due to the development of artificial intelligence. “In two or three years in recent times, all program codes are written in artificial intelligence,” he added. An analysis published by the International Monetary Fund at the beginning of this year showed that artificial intelligence would affect about 40% of global jobs, and that it would have more influence on advanced economies, while a report published at the end of last year expected the loss of up to 26 million posts in favor of this technology. He pointed out that governments may have to pay salaries to citizens in the so -called ‘comprehensive basic income’ without having a role in work and production in the light of the inability of any economy to carry an unemployment rate of up to 30% or 40%, indicating that these salaries from artificial intelligence come without pushing them to exceed them. A tax on artificial intelligence indicates the existence of a tax of up to 80% to companies that use artificial intelligence instead of people, but he has warned that it places us in front of a scenario of two: either the companies will prevent us from using artificial intelligence, which will harm the march of its development, or they will bypass the taxes by their business. He said: “The importance of government is today to encourage the development of artificial intelligence and at the same time encourage the preparation for its existence, and it is a dilemma.” Carsten Young, economic expert on the British Public Policy Research Institute, said obstetrician artificial intelligence would lead to substantial disorders of the labor market, but it could also increase economic growth. In the context of a report published by the Institute, he added that “the issue of undermining posts is not inevitable” as it depends on the acceptance of government, businesses and trade unions of a strategy that guarantees new technology in a way that does not affect work. Jawdat says there are three very important skills to keep a job in the era of artificial intelligence; The first is “learn artificial intelligence itself … and the best way to learn it is his experience and from today.” But he also emphasizes the importance of the skill of human communication and dealing with people. With artificial intelligence in the future, most of the jobs that need intelligence need to excel in the side of dealing with people. “For example, the function of the author is to collect ideas and post on paper or in a digital formula and publish them for people. If the author sets ideas without communicating with his environment, I confirm that artificial intelligence will write better books than anyone,” according to Jawdat. Jawdat also warned that artificial intelligence has learned over the past ten years how to deceive people, especially on social media. So, with the rise of deep forgery techniques and tools that make people deceive on a large scale, the most important thing is to distinguish between truth and lie, between the right person and the person who is made with artificial intelligence. This is the third skill we need.
