Odisha government performs massive bureaucratic reform in key sections

Bhubaneswar, October 10 (IANS). The Odisha government carried out a major reform in the IAS officials in Friday, bringing important administrative changes to different departments and key positions of the State Administration. Odisha General Administration and Department of Public Grievances issued a notice with information on new appointments and additional costs. According to the notice issued by the Department of General Administration and Public Grievances, the 2002 IAS officer, Girish SN, who currently serves as commissioner-Cum secretary of Panchayati Raj and Drinkwater Department, the additional charge of commissioner-cum secretary of the mission of the Shacti Department. He replaces senior IAS officer Shalini Pandit, who has been relieved of the state government from October 13 and will take over as a joint secretary in the Department of Finance of Finance for a five -year term of five years. Pandit, who also serves as commissioner-CUM secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, will be replaced by Dr Noonsawath Thirumala Naik, an IAS officer in 2009. He will take the lead after Shalini Pandit took the lead on October 13. Dr. Naik is currently holding the additional charge of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority as well as the managing director of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited. Mansi Nimbhal, a group of IAS officer in 2010, who is also the director of tourism and managing director of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) and director of the Department of Scheduled Tribes, has been appointed as the managing director of Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation. She will also hold the additional charge of additional secretary in the Department of Water Resources and will take over from Swadha Dev Singh of 2014 group. Singh has been relieved of the state government and will now take the lead in the Department of Staff and Training, the Ministry of Staff, Public Grievances and Pensions, the Government of India. Similarly, the state government on Friday announced the appointment of Director Miner Minerals, 2011 Batch IAS officer Samarth Verma, as an additional charge of managing director, Odisha Film Development Corporation, from October 13. With this he will be able to take the lead as director in the Ministry of Harbors, Shipping and Waterways in Delhi. Senior Odisha Administrative Service Officer Kanhu Charan Dhir, who is private secretary of the Deputy Head Minister and works in the women’s and child development, Mission Shakti and Tourism Divisions, will now take over as director of minor minerals. -—IANS SCH
