Odisha: Sudarshan Patnaik paid tribute to comedy emperor Asrani through sand art in Puri.

Puri, October 21 (IANS). Padmashree sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik paid a wonderful tribute to the late veteran actor Asrani at Odisha’s Puri beach on Tuesday. Asrani’s death on October 20 left a void in the comedy world. His iconic laugh and dialogues, such as “Half go here, half go there, and the rest come with us,” are still etched in the hearts of audiences today. Sudarshan Patnaik along with students from his Sand Art Institute created the special work using around 4 to 5 tonnes of sand. This sand sculpture reflects Asrani’s comic charm and his contribution to Indian cinema. His characters in films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Chupke Chupke’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ made generations laugh and gave unforgettable moments. This artwork symbolizes the joy and laughter that Asrani has brought to millions of fans. Patnaik said, “Through this sand art, I wanted to pay tribute to Asrani ji’s extraordinary legacy and his hilarious performances. His characters and dialogues will always live in our hearts, like this sand pattern.” He described Asrani’s demise as an irreparable loss to the comedy world. This art not only brings alive his memory but also gives his fans the opportunity to remember the golden moments of his films. This sand sculpture on Puri beach has become the center of discussion among tourists and local people. Many people watched it and shared stories from Asrani’s films. A local resident said, “Asrani ji’s comedy always made us laugh.
