Whenever the best actors of films are mentioned, Om Puri’s name is definitely mentioned. For almost four decades, he blessed the theater with brilliant films one after another. Be it the hero, supporting role, villain or bystander, Om Puri’s charisma was such that he charmed the audience with any role. No one could ignore him. Born on October 18, 1950 in Punjab, Om Puri always loved acting. However, his childhood was spent in poverty. It is said that when Om Puri went to take admission in FTII, he did not even have Rs 280 to pay the fees. Nevertheless, he somehow got admission and today he is considered among the best actors. Om Puri has acted in more than 300 films and has worked in more than 300 different languages throughout his career. His first film was Ghasiram Kotwal (1976).
