Omg! Vehicles moved 65 km of long massive traffic jam across this national highway of India only 5 kilometers within 24 hours
The storm rains in Bihar’s Rohtas district last week completely blocked the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway 19. Hundreds of vehicles have been in the jam for the past four days. Trucks, buses, cars and motorcycles all stand in long queues. There is a jam of about 65 kilometers long from Rohtas to Aurangabad. During this time, people take a few hours to travel even a few kilometers. After heavy rains last Friday, deviations and service roads along the highway are in water underwater. The company that built the six-lane highway has built many temporary roads, but it has now turned into mud and potholes. There are potholes and weakening in many places, sliding vehicles and the traffic jam increases every hour. In some places, vehicles can only travel 5 kilometers within 24 hours. The condition of truck drivers stuck in the jam is very bad. Truck driver Praveen Singh said: “We could only cover 7 kilometers within 30 hours. There is no relief even after we paid toll and road tax.” Another driver said they had been lost in the traffic jam for two days, with no food or water. It takes hours to walk even a few kilometers. No concrete steps are taken. Business was also influenced by the jam. Drivers who carry raw materials and food items fear losses. Ambulances, pedestrians and tourist vehicles were also severely affected. When the National Highways Authority of India (Nhai) project director Ranjit Verma was asked about this, he refused to appear on camera. People say that neither Nhai employees are visible, and that the local administration did not take any concrete steps. Share this story -tags
