Johnstons dual homer in the 11th lifts Marlins to 6-4 victory over Tigers
Miami (AP) -The newcomer Troy Johnston teamed twice, including a match-winning two-run in the 11th inning, and Miami Marlins beat the Detroit Tigers 6-4 on Saturday. Agustín Ramírez doubled and singled out, while Otto López had two strokes and drove in a run when the Marlins won their fourth straight. After the RBI double Detroit of Wenuceel Pérez went to 11th place, López started the bottom half with a single inland advancing automatic runner -up Joey Wiemer. Heriberto Hernández’s RBI Fielder’s Choice scored Wiemer before Johnston drove a slider from Rafael Montero (1-2) over the wall in the right center. It was Johnston’s first career multi-homer game. Kerry Carpenter hit a two-run-Homer in third place to tie it and drove Junk’s first pitch over the wall in the right center for his 25th Homer. Detroit starting batsman Charlie Morton gave up two runs and three strokes in four innings. He strikes four and steps four. Simpson loaded the bases with one from the top of the 11th. A wild pitch from the back of the back to the Catcher Liam Hicks, who marked Spencer Torkelson when he tried third. Simpson hits Parker Meadows to limit the Tigers to a run.
