Women's Asia Cup hockey: China defeated Indian team 1-4 in the final
Hangzhou, September 14 (IANS). The Indian team lost 1-4 against China in the final of the Women’s Hockey Asia Cup in Hangzhou, China. Due to the defeat, the Indian team missed to get a direct position in the Hockey World Cup. In the very first minute of the match for the Indian team, the forward Navneet Kaur scored a goal, but after that the Indian team struggled for the goal. For China, the goals of Captain Old Gixia (21st minute), Lee Hong (40th minute), Joo Mirong (51st minute) and Jhong Jiaki (53rd minute) have scored. With this victory, China became the eighth team to be eligible for the World Women’s Hockey Championships in 2026. The World Cup will be presented in Belgium and the Netherlands on August 14-30, 2025. Belgium and the Netherlands secured direct places as hosts.
