‘Operation Indus’ began with the safer return of Indians from Iran, airplane leaves with 110 students

In light of the increasing military conflict between Iran and Israel and the weakened regional situation, the Government of India has launched ‘Operation Sindhu’ to ensure the safety and safe return of Indian citizens trapped in Iran. As part of this special campaign hosted by the Government of India, 110 Indian students stranded in the northern part of Iran were evacuated on June 17. These students were transported from Iran to Jerewan, the capital of Armenia, under the supervision of the Indian embassy. From there, all the students leave for India through special aircraft on Wednesday at 2:55 p.m. and are expected to reach New -Delhi in the early hours of June 19. This operation is the first phase of Indus. The Government of India expressed the governments of Iran and Armenia special gratitude for cooperation in this entire campaign, which fully and safely helped to make the evacuation process comfortable and safe. The Government of India has made it clear that the safety and well -being of Indians living abroad is the top priority. Due to the weakened situation in Iran, the Indian embassy is constantly dealing with the transfer of Indian citizens of fighting to safe areas. The evacuation process is performed based on available sources and safe options.
