Jakarta -Commander of the Operations Command of the Habema Task Force, Major General TNI Lucky Avianto, said a firefighting between Habema Task Force staff and an armed criminal group (KKB) in Unambungu, Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua -Mountains. A KKB member who was also the OPM Kodap XII operation commander, Mayu Waliya died in this operation. “From the report that took place on Monday (6/10), one KKB member named Mayu Waliya was killed and it could only be confirmed on Wednesday (8/10) after the team identified the data on the cellphone at the scene,” the Habema Task Force Major -General said Tni Lucky Avianto, (9/10/2025), reported. Previously (5/10), Koops Habema managed to control one of the headquarters of KKB Kodap XII/Lanny Jaya led by Purom Okiman Wenda in the Unambungu mountain area. It is known that this headquarters is the coordination center for armed groups that were active in carrying out violence against security forces and civil society. The KKB is believed to have launched a counter -attack on Monday (6/10), which led to armed contact with the TNI task force. Within the headquarters, a number of evidence was found in the form of war equipment, ammunition of 7.62 and 5.56 mm, telescopes, NPAs, HTS, cell phones, strategic documents and KKB properties, including the Morning Star flag. Lucky said that the entire series of operations was performed in a measurable, professional way and based on the principle of protecting civilians. “The rifle contact was a response to the counter -attack performed by the KKB, so that our troops acted according to procedures, maintained combat discipline and ensured the safety of the people around the location,” he said.
