Rahul Gandhi on Gujarat Tour will begin the pilot project to strengthen the congress

Ahmedabad, April 14 (IANS). Opposition leader in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is on a two -day visit to Gujarat from April 15 (Tuesday). During this time, he will begin a pilot project to revive the congressional organization in the state at ground level. This initiative is considered an important step for the party to organizational strength in the state, where Congress has been out of power over the past three decades. This pilot project is part of the comprehensive strategy of the congress under which the party wants to strengthen its hold in the United States where its base has weakened. In order to challenge the BJP’s long dominance in Gujarat politics, Congress has now taken a step to empower the organization at district level. At the beginning of his tour, Rahul Gandhi will attend an orientation meeting in Ahmedabad, in which 42 All India Congress Committee (AICC) and the Observers of the State Congress of the State Congress (PCC) will participate. All of these supervisors were appointed by AICC on April 12. Their most important task is to monitor the process of appointing presidents of the congress district in 33 districts and eight major cities of the state, which will cover a total of 41 organizational units. Shactisinh Gohil, president of the Gujarat Congress, said: “These observers will play an important role in the identity and choice of local leadership. Rahul Gandhi himself will communicate with him and share the expectations and visions of the leadership.” After this, on Wednesday, April 16, Rahul Gandhi will reach the city of Modasa in the Aravali district, where he will address party workers and formally start this pilot project. The project is also seen as a model for organizational reforms in other countries. This visit from Rahul Gandhi will take place at a time when there were important meetings of AICC and the Congressional Working Committee in Ahmedabad on April 8-9. Years later, these meetings in Gujarat are seen as an attempt to return politically to the party’s state. Earlier in March, Rahul Gandhi also visited Gujarat, where he met party workers and social organizations and emphasized the need for excitement and inclusive politics at grassroots level. -Ians DSC/CBT Share this story Tags
