A video of the incident has surfaced on the internet media, in which a teacher can be seen being surrounded by students and being pushed and shoved in the presence of policemen in the principal’s room. Many teachers condemned this incident and called it an attack on the dignity of teachers. The Democratic Teachers Front (DTF) said the teacher who was attacked was Sujit Kumar, convener of the college’s disciplinary committee, which investigates complaints of violence between students in the college.
