Pakistan angry about the joint statement of India-Afghanistan, called Afghan Ambassador
Islamabad, October 12 (IANS). Aamir Khan Muttaki’s visit to India, Aamir Khan Muttaki of Afghanistan, continues. Meanwhile, on October 10, Pakistan expressed strong object to the joint statement of India-Afghanistan in New Delhi. To express the unhappiness, Pakistan summoned the Afghan ambassador. Aamir Khan Muttaki’s visit to India, Afghanistan, began from Thursday. The discomfort of Pakistan is constantly increasing because of this visit from the Afghan minister. He then met the Foreign Minister, with Jaishankar and issued a joint statement. Thereafter, an official statement issued by the Pakistan Foreign Office said that the additional foreign secretary (West Asia and Afghanistan) was transferred to the Afghan envoy Islamabad’s deep concerns about the references to Jammu and Kashmir in the joint statement of India and Kabul. The confirmation of Pakistan’s longtime position over Jammu and Kashmir said: “It is pointed out that the recognition of Jammu and Kashmir as part of India is a clear violation of the relevant UN security council’s resolutions.” In fact, according to the joint statement of India and Afghanistan, Afghanistan strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir in April. Solidarity with the people and the government of India was also expressed. Furthermore, both unequivocally all terrorist acts arising from regional countries condemned and emphasized the importance of promoting peace, mutual trust and regional stability. Afghan Foreign Minister Muttaki called terrorism an ‘internal case’ of Pakistan. Pakistan also objected to that. The foreign office rejected this allegation, saying that the responsibility of the control of terrorism on Pakistan did not release the Afghan interim government from its responsibilities to ensure regional peace and stability. The foreign office reminded that Pakistan has offered about four million Afghan refugees for more than four decades. The foreign office said that with the return of relative peace to Afghanistan, unauthorized Afgish citizens living in Pakistan will now return home. “Like all other countries, Pakistan also has the right to regulate the presence of foreign citizens who live on its territory. Islamabad still gives medical and student visas to Afghan citizens in the spirit of Islamic brotherhood and good neighboring relations,” the statement says. The Pakistani Foreign Office has repeated the policy against Afghanistan, and has concluded that Pakistan wants to see a peaceful, stable, regional beloved and wealthy Afghanistan and will continue to support efforts that increase the trade, economic cooperation and connectivity between the two countries. –Is KK/VC shares this story tags
