Mumbai, April 2 (IANS). Pakistani actor Fawad Khan stars ‘Abir Gulal’ has been engulfed in controversy since the release of the teaser. Meanwhile, MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) has issued a new statement warning the producers of the film. MNS said he did not allow the film to be released in Maharashtra. Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is the reason for the controversy in the film. MNS is of the opinion that this cast is against the agreement held in 2016 following the manufacturers’ meeting and CM Devendra Fadnavis and his party president Raj Thackeray. MNS leader and filmmaker Ameya Khopkar spoke to the media. In this, he said that he did not allow the film to be released in theaters. The MNS leader said: “We protest against Pakistani artists and Pakistani films and we will continue to protest. No film with Pakistani artists will be released here. There is no need to release it.” He also said that if there are terrorist attacks in India, the artists of Pakistan remain silent, they do not respond. He challenged the producers and further said, “I just want to say that the producers of the film show the courage to release it. I challenge you. In 2016 we had a meeting with the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Raj Thackeray were also involved in the meeting.” Referring to the film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ by Karan Johar in 2016, he further said: ‘Some filmmakers were also present in the meeting held in 2016. Then we decided that what was made before the film would be released here will be made here. ‘ Khopkar further said: “I challenge the producers of ‘Abir Gulal’ to release this film in Maharashtra.” The tensions between India and Pakistan increased after the terror attack on the Indian security forces in URI in 2016. Hereafter MNS opposed the release of the film. -Ians mt/gkt share this story tags
