Panasonic Holdings intends to give an experimental boost of its new solid batteries during the financial year ending in March 2027, in an effort to enter the battery market of the new generation designated for robots and other systems. This step comes within a broader industrial effort aimed at producing more efficient and safe energy sources than the traditional “Li -ion” batteries. Fixed condition batteries are characterized by their ability to work longer periods and carry high temperatures, while reducing the possibilities of leakage or inflammation thanks to the absence of liquid electrolyte. According to the CEO of Technology Swirero and Watanabi, the company was initially planned to use its new batteries in industrial robots, tire pressure monitoring systems and other scenarios that exploit its benefits in high temperature conditions. Competition in the battery market, although the primary product of the OSAKA -based electronic manufacturer remains, remains a ‘Li -ion’ battery, but it works to improve energy density and improve safety standards in its batteries of solid condition. The company wants to compete with the “TDK” TDK, a leader in the small batteries market, based on its extensive experience in producing electric car batteries to increase its presence in this emerging market. The Toyota car and ‘Idemitsu Kosan’ previously announced their plans to equip electric cars with the solid condition batteries they developed by 2027 and 2028. Nissan Motor and Honda Motor also unveiled the development of batteries to keep up with the competition in this sector.
