Body of man missing 28 years preserved in melting glacier in Pakistan

(X/@marionawfal) In a remarkable and tragic discovery, the body of a man who went missing in Pakistan almost three decades ago in Pakistan in a melting glacier, almost perfectly preserved, with his clothes still intact. According to BBC Urdu, the deceased was identified as Naseuddin, who disappeared in the cohistan region in northern Pakistan 28 years ago, allegedly from a family feud. His remains were discovered by a local shepherd, who was stunned to find the body in such an untouched condition. “What I saw was incredible. The body was intact. The clothes were not even torn, ‘the Shepherd told BBC Urdu. An identity card restored on the website helped police confirm the man’s name. Authorities say Naseuddin disappeared in June 1997 and there are probably two children. Naseuddin, a cool disappearance according to a report by the Express Tribune, traveled on the horse with his brother, Kaseerddin, when he disappeared. The two allegedly left the house to a violent dispute for the purpose of hiding. After reaching the valley, the brothers were ambushed. Naseuddin was last seen by his brother who has shelter in a nearby cave to escape attackers. Although Kaseruddin left to seek help, his brother has never been seen again until now. Experts naturally preserve that the lack of oxygen, extreme cold and low humidity in the glacier contributed to preserving the body of Naseuddin in almost perfect condition. Police suspect he may have fallen into the glacier while hiding in the cave. The Cohistan region, near the Border of Afghanistan, is known for heavy snowfall and temperature below the zero. Over the years, rising temperatures and glacial melting have begun to stay hidden under ice and snow for a long time. Now, 28 years later, he is allegedly returning to the region to collect his brother’s remains, and includes a chapter that has been unresolved for decades.
