Pertamina International Shipping worked with KLH student who planted 20,000 mangrove

Jakarta -Pertamina TBK through a subsidiary of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) works with the Ministry of Environmental Affairs (KLH), the Sea Soldier community, volunteers from PIS workers and schoolchildren, which at the same time planted 20 thousand mangreles on the coast of Jakarta. This activity is part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL) entitled ‘Serene for the Sea’. This activity is at the same time to commemorate National Children’s Day on July 23, 2025 and the World Mangrove Day on July 26, 2025. “The planting of this mangrove is in line with the marine biodiversity pillar that focuses on the conservation of the biodiversity of Sea, which is very effective and also useful to protect the coastline,” said Pis President Surya. The government cannot work alone. Support is needed from corporations such as PIs, this is a strategic step that will provide ecological and economic benefits to the surrounding community,” he said. On the other hand, the corporate secretary of PT Pertamina (Person), Arya Dwi Paramita, also expressed his appreciation for the pertamina group’s commitment to maintaining environmental sustainability by actual action, such as planting mangroves. “It is part of the commitment of Pertamina Group; this activity not only plants mangroves to take up emissions, but can also affect social, environment and education where we help educate younger siblings to participate in the protection of the environment,” Arya said. On this occasion, PIs took the Seasoldier Foundation that not only planted tens of thousands of mangroves, but also cared for and retained the growth of these plants. “We call this mandate. Mangrove -planted must be monitored, cared for and gave affection to really grow. It works over generations, and we are proud to be able to walk with PIs,” says Nadine Candrawinata, the founder of Seasoldier. According to him, their journey during the ten years was the largest plant activity.
