The Urban Administration and Housing Department has prepared a high-tech plan of Rs 1900 crore for running bridge taxis in the city and sent it to the state government. This project will include Ujjain among the selected cities with modern transport in the country. Under the Rs 1900 crore bridge taxi project scheme, a total of 13 stations have been proposed on two routes of 25.46 km length. After the recommendation of the division level committee related to Simhastha works, the scaffold taxi will now be placed for approval in the meeting of the state level supervision committee. If this project is approved, Ujjain will be the first religious and pilgrimage city in the country where metro-like facilities will be available in the form of platform taxis. Explain that the scaffolding taxi is an automated, driverless and electric vehicle system that runs on elevated steel tracks. It does not have a driver, instead it is managed by computers and sensors. Metro-like facility in Ujjain: This taxi, which looks like a compact car, can transport 4 to 6 passengers at a time to the destination. This traffic jam-free and environment-friendly system will be helpful in making urban transport modern and organized. By implementing this in Ujjain, a great change will be seen in tourism, religious movement and urban mobility. The project is linked to the preparations for Simhastha 2028. Officials believe that the platform taxi will not only modernize the image of the city but also provide a convenient travel experience to thousands of devotees and tourists. There will be less pressure on the traffic system, it will reduce the traffic pressure in Ujjain and tourism will get a new impetus.
