Phillies puts struggling Aaron Nola on 15-day il with real single-sprout

Philadelphia (AP) -The right hand of Phillies, Aaron Nola, was placed on the 15-day injured list on Friday with a sprained right ankle. The 31-year-old veteran struggled this season and is coming out of an excursion against St. Louis in which he allowed 12 strokes, nine runs and three Homers-all career heights-in a loss of 14-7. Nola originally injured the ankle while doing in the outfield in Tampa last Thursday. He has since begun two and said the ankle is bothering him to the point that he is compensating too much elsewhere in his body. “I felt like I had to overcome a little,” Nola said. “It got a little better last game, but it put a little more tension on my back just because I couldn’t turn my foot like I usually do.” The Phillies chose to place Nola on the injured list to prevent another injury from coming up while he preferred the ankle. Phillies manager Rob Thomson said he did not expect it to be a long lead for Nola, who did not start a start in 2021, except for a ten -day strike on the Covid Injury List. “It’s clear that I never want to go on the Il,” Nola said. ‘As a participant, I’m here to hit. I’ve been through things before and little things didn’t affect me. I thought it was going to take off now, but it’s not really. It’s frustrating. ‘ For the season, Nola 1-7 was started with a 6.16 era in nine. In 11 seasons with Philadelphia, Nola is 105-86 with a 3.78 era. The Phillies are reminiscent of the right hand of Daniel Robert of Triple-a Lehigh Valley to take Nola’s grid. Robert was purchased from Texas on April 30 in a trade. Mick Abel, prospect, will be remembered to make a place on Sunday and the Phillies will make a corresponding move at the time. Taijuan Walker, who pitched three innings of Nola on Wednesday, will take Nola’s real turn in the rotation next Wednesday in Colorado. Philadelphia starts a series of three games against the visit to Pittsburgh on Friday night. ___
