Piyush Goyal meets the Minister of Qatar in Doha, and the emphasis on strengthening business relationships

Doha, October 7 (IANS). Piyush Goyal, Minister of Trade and Industry in the trade union, met with the Foreign Trade Minister with the foreign trade in Doha in Doha on Tuesday. He confirmed India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties with the Golfland. The meeting follows discussions held in New Delhi in August, when Al-Sayed India visited to lead a high level of investment delegation. Goyal expressed the optimism about the growing economic ties between the two countries, “It was a pleasure to meet Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Sayed. We remembered our discussions in New Delhi and looked forward to continuing collaboration to improve bilateral trade and investment ties.” Goyal’s visit to Qatar coincides with the meeting of the India Cathar Joint Commission for Trade and Trade, which he along with Sheikh Faisal Bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and the Industry of Qatar. The two parties discussed the proposed free trade agreement in India Cathar (FTA) and a comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which aims to double bilateral trade from the current $ 14 billion to $ 28 billion by 2030. India has a significant trade deficit with Qatar, mainly due to petroleum imports. However, Qatar has already invested $ 4 to 5 billion in India and another $ 1.5 billion is in the pipeline. Goyal highlights the possibilities of further collaboration in areas such as manufacturing, artificial intelligence, data centers and financial services. The Union Minister also launched India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in Lulu Hypermarket in Doha, which will be a milestone in digital connectivity between the two countries.
