PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana is a colorful bouquet for farmers: Dr. Anil Kumar Singh

Bhagalpur, October 11 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the Rs 42,000 Crore ‘Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana’ and ‘Pulse Self-Reliance Campaign’ at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa, in New Delhi. Prime Minister Modi also submitted and laid the groundstone of more than 1100 agricultural, livestock, fine culture and food processing projects. Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, Director -Research, Bihar Agricultural University (Bau) Sabour, in Bhagalpur, Bihar, described it as a ‘colorful bouquet’ for the Boers. Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, while talking to Ians, praised the scheme, saying that this scheme would realize the vision of a developed India by 2047. He said: “PM’s farmer’s-friendly thinking will ensure food and nutritional safety. 250 million tonnes of pulses are produced in the country, but per capita consumption is 19 kg per year. Dollars.” For this, 100 low productivity districts of the country were selected, which included many Bihar districts. New varieties of pulses and oilseeds have been developed in Bihar, which is effective in increasing the yield. Dr Singh said: “According to the thinking of the Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and CM, agricultural scientists and farmers will save $ 5-6 billion. New technology and the emphasis on profitable crops such as pulses will double the revenue.” Under ‘Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana’, irrigation, storage, crop diversification and credit facilities will be increased by Rs 24,000 crore, which will benefit 1.7 crore farmers. The scheme is especially important in Bhagalpur, which is a flood-sensitive area in the Ganga-Kosi sink. More than 1.5 lakh farmers of the district are active in the production of pulses. Bau Sabour has developed new varieties of pigeon pea, lentils and grams, which are climate -friendly.
