PM Modi appreciated the role of northeast in the freedom struggle, remember Bhupen Hazarika's songs

Guwahati, September 14 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the northeastern region of the country on Saturday for his contribution to India’s freedom struggle and national defense. He emphasized that countless people of this region made the highest sacrifice for the country. Prime Minister Modi said this while during the birth century celebrations of Bharat Ratna, dr. Bhupen Hazarika, talked. In his speech, Prime Minister Modi reminded how initiatives such as the Amrit Mahotsav of independence help to revive and demonstrate the glorious history of the northeast. This initiative brought the stories of anonymous heroes who fought for freedom and protected the boundaries of the country. Prime Minister Modi said: “Those songs have communicated courage and energy in the country and that feeling is still alive today.” He further said that the enthusiasm, creativity and patriotism of the people of Assam and the Northeast did not reduce, and it shows their spirit for the creation of a new India. PM Modi said Bhupen Hazarika’s birthday was over a few days ago, on September 8. The day I expressed my feelings in an article devoted to Bhupen DA. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in this event of his birthday year. It is my happiness to come to such a sacred occasion. We called Bhupen da with all the love -sideho. It is the birth -centenary of the Shudha Conto, who gave the feelings of India, who associated the music with condolences, who cherished the dreams of India in music and told the compassion of Maa Bharati of Maa Ganga through their singing. He further said that Bhupen da Sasheri is no longer among us, but that his songs and vowels still testify to India’s development journey, which gives him energy.
