New -Delhi, June 25 (IANS). Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma on Wednesday remembered the painful past after completing 50 years of the emergency. Referring to the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in a conversation with the Ians news agency, he explained how he killed democracy while abusing his power. He also told how Narendra Modi helped people in jail during the emergency. Dinesh Sharma said it was celebrated as ‘Constitution Hurry Day’ after completion of 50 years of emergencies. Those who demand the book of Constitution in their hands also claim to be the protector of the Constitution, the protector of democracy, such people must go five decades ago and see how democracy and constitution died in their government. Such people have no moral right to talk about the Constitution or democracy. He said Indira Gandhi, after losing the election against Rajnarayan, was disqualified from all the posts and banned any form of election for six years. However, Indira Gandhi was unable to accept the court’s decision and announced an emergency across the country. He quoted that an emergency was imposed due to internal disorder, while the truth was that there was no internal disorder, but Indira Gandhi lost the election and was stopped by the court to dispute for six years. After this, he took such a step. The Rajya Sabha member of parliament said that all the powers to the government and the court do not have the right to intervene in the operation of the government. Indira Gandhi did this and took all the powers in her hand. All journalists, advocates and right rights are also enshrined. More than four Lakh people were arrested under ‘Misa’.
