The government plans to develop a model solar village in every district. The aim of this scheme is to encourage citizens to adopt solar energy, which will reduce electricity bills and benefit the environment. This scheme will help in realizing the dream of independent India. One village each in all the districts of the state will become model solar village. The Director of Breda, while giving this information to all the DMs, requested them to select such towns from their respective districts and provide the list. Some criteria have been set for this. It was said that towns should be selected on this basis. It has been requested to take it on priority basis and send the list soon so that the further process can be started. It was informed that according to the guidelines of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, a total of seven criteria were set for the selection of towns. During this period, a competition for selection will also be organized. Apart from this, the village will be assessed based on the total distributed solar capacity installed in its revenue limit. The village with the highest installed distributed solar power capacity within its income limit during the six-month competition period will be declared Model Solar Village.
