Google introduces scheduled actions in Gemini -App: How the feature works and details is eligible | Mint
Google has begun to perform an important new feature in its Gemini app, which has improved its functionality with the introduction of scheduled actions. The update, which was unveiled at the company’s I/O Developer Conference, is now available to users who are subscribed to Google AI Pro or Ultra plans, as well as the Google Workspace Business and Education accounts. How the Gemini -scheduled actions function works, the new addition can instruct users twins to perform specific tasks at scheduled times and transform the AI assistant into a more proactive and personalized tool for everyday productivity. Whether it’s a regular morning routine or requesting one -time update, Gemini is now equipped to handle tasks on a schedule without having to need repeated directions. For example, users can receive a Morning Digest that summarizes their calendar events and unread email, or set a recurring reminder to generate content ideas every Monday, such as five new blog topics. Sports enthusiasts can also schedule match updates, while entertainment fans can choose summaries of awards the day after they broadcast. Google says the scheduled actions can be easily managed via a dedicated page within the Gemini app settings. The function aims to reduce repetitive interactions and help users stay abreast, inspired and organized. The feature is currently exclusive to users on premium plans, and joins Google’s strategy to add value to its paid AI services as it continues to compete with competitors in the generative AI space. In other news, Google also tests a new feature Artificial Intelligence (AI) that provides users with a short, text -based summaries of current weather conditions directly within its mobile search experience. Some users in the United States have noticed the feature, which is currently limited in availability, by users of the United States as they search for Android and iOS for city-specific weather information. According to a 9to5Google report, the AI-powered summary appears between the standard-hour and 10-day prediction sections and aims to give an understanding of the weather. The short narrative contains key details such as wind conditions, the likelihood of rain or thunderstorms, atmospheric pressure patterns and trends in temperature fluctuations. At present, the function seems to be in an early test phase, with visibility limited to certain regions. The search for “Weather Los Angeles” and “Weather San Diego” reportedly caused the new summary, while other locations did not deliver the same result. Mint was also unable to access the summaries for the said cities, suggesting that the launch is probably limited to a small user group.
