Jakarta -A number of tombstones at the TPU grave of Ngejak, Bantul, East Java, were damaged by unknown people. Police intervened to conduct an investigation. Head of Bantul police public relations AKP i Nengah Jeffry Prana Widnyana said the destruction of the grave is known around 06.00 WIB on Sunday (5/18). The officer then checked the information to the location. “The Banguntapan police officers looked at the scene earlier. After the officers of the Banguntapan police stations looked at the grave, there was a destruction of the grave,” Jeffry said. It was known that all the tombstones that were damaged were a sign of the cross and a tombstone of the tomb of Christian people. “There are 3 tombstones of ceramics, then 7 tombstones are made of wood. The tombstone that is damaged is all non-Muslim graves (Christians),” he said. Based on evidence testimony, it is estimated that the destruction took place at night or early morning.
