Language shows culture not just the medium of dialogue: Harsshvardhan Sapkal

Mumbai, June 28 (IANS). The Maharashtra government made Hindi compulsory from the first to fifth class as a third language in government schools. The President of the State Congress, Harsh Vardhan Sapkal, opposed the government’s decision and demanded to withdraw it immediately. Harshvardhan Sapkal spoke to the news agency, saying: “When the language was discussed after independence, the three -language formula was given by Premier Jawaharlal Nehru. It had a mother tongue, there was a Hindi and an English language. Marathi culture. After “one nation, one election, a leader”, they also want to implement a language. BJP-RSS wants to eliminate mother tongues by bringing Hindi language. We are against it. We have been upset over the issue of marathi language conservation over the past two months. Other people also join it. We seek support of everyone in the name of the salvation of culture. The issue of language is underway, it is not political, BJP gives it political color. Whatever order the government has given, it must be canceled. The order of the Maharashtra government to teach Hindi language as the third compulsory language is strongly opposed by the opposition parties in the state. Uddhav Thackeray, head of Shiv Sena (UBT), and Raj Thackeray, head of the MNS, also came together on the issue. Raj Thackeray threatened the mass movement in the event that the government did not withdraw the decision. -Ians bag/Ekd shares this story tags
