Jakarta – The police arrested a motorcycle thief who committed theft in Citangkil, Cilegon, Banten. Meanwhile, another offender ran away when he was about to be arrested. The motorcycle theft by the two offenders took place on 24 September. The two offenders, with the initials A and H, are residents of Ciomas, Serang Regency, who went to Cilegon to steal a motorcycle. The two of them chased motorcycles into people’s houses. “The modus operandi of the offender and his friend with the initials H was to use a motorcycle belonging to brother A to search and first monitor the motorcycle that would be stolen. Then, after finding the offender, he took the motorcycle with a T key,” Panit 1 Reksrim Ciwandan Police Ipda M Suharya told reporters, Friday (207/207/50). The two offenders managed to steal a motorcycle from a Citangkil resident which was parked in front of his house. “What happened on Wednesday 24 September 2025 at around 03:00 WIB, the item taken was a blue Yamaha X-ride motorcycle with registration number A 3391 YN,” he said. The victim, who discovered that his motorcycle was missing, then reported it to the Ciwandese Police. The police received the report and investigated and pursued the offender. “The chronology of the offender’s arrest was successfully secured by the Ciwandese Police because the offender was caught in the act when he stole a motorcycle and a T-key was found around the crime scene, where the train key belonged to the offender,” he said. During his second arrest, offender H managed to escape. Currently, the police are still chasing offender H. “When we tried to arrest one of his colleagues, the offender, whose initials were H, managed to escape with the vehicle,” he added. (ball/fast)
