Jakarta – The Indonesian Police Science Doctoral Association (Dikpi) met with the Secretariat of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Contrast). The meeting aimed to strengthen the relationship between police academics and coalitions in civil society to strengthen the human, transparent and accountable National Police Reform Agenda. The meeting was held in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/10/2025), chaired by the chairman of Dikpi Kbp Dedy Tabrani. Dikpi was received directly by contrast officials represented by Andri Yunus as Deputy Foreign Coordinator. In the discussion, Dikpi and contrast opinions on the challenges of democratic policing and institutional reform exchanged. During the meeting, the importance of internalizing human rights values in police education and practice was also discussed. He acknowledged that he wanted to strengthen the dialogue so that the national police would be trusted more by the public. “We want to strengthen the science -based dialogue, so that national police will be increasingly trusted by the public and aimed at humanitarian services,” Dedy said. Dedy said this meeting was also a historical momentum to resume academic communication between the police community and contrast after more than a decade.
