Police search for a baby's body tossing in a cradle at Tiang Portal in Bekasi

Bekasi City – The case of the discovery of a baby’s body in a plastic bag hanging from a portal post in a village alley in Pekayon, South Bekasi, Bekasi City, West Java (Jabar) is still under investigation. The perpetrator who had the heart to throw the poor baby away is now being hunted by the police. “Until now, we are maximizing the search for the perpetrator,” South Bekasi police chief, Dedi Herdiana, said on Tuesday (21/10/2025) when asked. Dedi said there were no CCTV cameras pointing at the portal post where the perpetrator hanged the victim. The police asked for information from several suspected people, but it turned out that they were not the perpetrators of dumping the baby. But regarding these leads, after doing further investigation, we have not yet narrowed it down and confirmed that he was the offender,” he explained. The victim was found on Sunday (19/10), at 02.30 WIB. The witness who found the package with the baby then reported it to the police. Police said witnesses initially thought the plastic contained debris. Dedi said the newborn baby was found dead. “The plastic was (hanging) from the portal.
