Jakarta – The police distributed food to residents passing by on the highway, on the occasion of Good Friday in Depok, West Java (West Java). This food distribution drive attracted the public’s attention because the police were riding horses. Friday’s blessing of the turangga (equestrian) troops was carried out by personnel from the Turangga Division of the Directorate of Animal Police, Sabhara Baharkam Polri Corps. They were driving on Jalan Raya Bogor Km 29 Number 29, Mekarsari, Cimanggis on Friday (17/10/2025). Meanwhile, two horses that caught the attention of residents were named Wulinda and Silke. “Apart from Good Fridays, patrols are also our routine,” Sabhara Corps chief Inspector General Mulia Hasudungan Ritonga told reporters on Saturday (18/10). He explained the patrol route from the UI Access Highway to Jalan Raya Bogor. During this patrol, the team also interacted with residents and participated in crossing residents, as the traffic was busy. “Implementation of traffic regulations in Cimanggis Depok as well,” said Ritonga. He hopes that the presence of Den Turangga will bring the police closer to the residents and increase the education of the residents about the police with a mounted group. A humanistic approach to citizens is also carried out by the Turangga Division, Directorate of Animal Police, Sabhara Baharkam Polri Corps on events where there are crowds of citizens, such as the car-free day in Depok.
