Jakarta – A joint officer of the Cikande Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the Serang Police Resmob Satreskrim team have arrested the syndicate of money thieves with the Mandiri Teller Machine mode (ATM). They performed in 41 places in the provinces of Banten, Jakarta and Bogor. Serang police chief AKBP Condro Sasongko said three people were nominated as suspects in the case, while the other three were still pursued. Condro explained that the announcement of this money theft case was a follow -up to the Izah report (42), a resident of Puri Teratai Cikande. Initially, the victim’s ATM card was hampered by the ATM machine on Sunday (9/14), not far from his home. “When the victim was panicking because the ATM card was hampered, one of the offenders pretended to provide assistance. The victim followed the directions of the offenders and pressed the PIN number on the ATM machine. Because the card could not be taken, the offenders advised the victim to go to the bank office,” Condro said. After the victim went to the bank office, the perpetrator then took the victim’s ATM card with a tool in the form of an iron plate prepared. The offenders then withdraw the saving of the victim by withdrawing cash and transferring from a number of ATM machines. Upon arrival at the bank, the victim was told that there were a number of transfer transactions and cash withdrawals worth RP25.95 million. Knowing that the savings have disappeared, the victim reported to the Cikande police headquarters. “It didn’t take long, the three offenders who were Tanggamus residents were arrested on Saturday night, September 20, yesterday in a hired home in the Bojong area, Cikupa district, Tangerang Regency,” said Condro. For police, the herd from all over the provincial ATM card specialists claimed to have committed crimes in the Jakarta, West Java and Banten areas 41 times. “There are 41 crime scenes recognized by the perpetrators, including in Bogor, Parung Panjang, Cijantung, Rambutan Village, Serang and Tangerang Regency, Serang City, Cilegon and Tangerang City,” he explained.
