Browse to continue the content, Prabowo explained that he started the program after seeing the abnormal growth or stunning of children firsthand. Prabowo observed children during the presidential election campaign in which he spent various conditions. “I have run as president for the past 20-25 years. I ran five times, four times I lost, the last time I won, ‘Prabowo said. “What I want to say is that these five campaigns went to many towns during these campaigns in many areas, and every time I get into that town, I see little children greeting me,” he continued. Prabowo was surprised to see that the child, who he said was still a child, was a teenager when asked. “They came, stood and waved. Then I talked to them and asked: How old are you? And I was surprised many times,” Prabowo said. “When I think the boy before me should be just four years old because of his body, he replied that he was ten years old. And the girl I thought should only be five years old, he said he was 11 years old. And so on, so I was shocked, ‘he continued. Prabowo saw the problem of stunting and malnutrition in children firsthand. Prabowo then remembered schools abroad that offer free meals for students. “Schools in Europe, in the UK, in the US, offer free food for lunch. So I said, and then I read about Brazil. So, I saw it, the importance of doing something, and then I realized that India, their income per capita is lower than Indonesia. But their leaders dare to have a free food program for children,” he said. Even in India, where the per capita revenue is less than Indonesia, there is a program similar to MBG. From there, he spoke to his campaign team about the implementation of the MBG program. “Then I started planning this program from 2023. There were 77 countries with free nutritious meal programs at the time. I thought Indonesia had to be the 78th or 79th country to implement this program. So we started planning and announcing this program as a campaign program,” he said. (Eva/FCA)
