Pradeep Ranganathan's 'Death' made a strong entry at the box office on Diwali, good earnings on the first day.
Mumbai, October 18 (IANS). Nowadays, in Tamil cinema, where the films of big stars are knocking at the box office one after the other, actor Pradeep Ranganathan’s new film ‘Death’, which became popular among the youth, also grabbed everyone’s attention as soon as it was released. This film not only comes with an interesting story but also has a great combination of comedy, romance and social message. Seeing the success of Pradeep’s previous films, the eyes of the audience and trade analysts were fixed on this film, and the film’s first day earnings showed that there is no less curiosity among the audience about it. There has already been a lot of discussion on social media about ‘Dude’, especially among the youth. The trailer and songs went viral. The film was released in theaters on October 17 on the occasion of Diwali and this day was a profitable deal for the film. The special thing was that other big films like ‘Bison’ and ‘Diesel’ were also released on this day but ‘Dude’ made a place for itself and recorded excellent earnings. According to Sacknilk, the film earned Rs 10 crore in India on the first day. This figure is considered a huge achievement for a non-masala romantic comedy film. This film turned out to be one of Pradeep’s strongest opening films till date. The film performed particularly well among urban multiplex audiences, where a large youth turnout was seen. The story and screenplay of ‘Dude’ kept the audience engaged. Mamita Baiju’s pairing with Pradeep is much liked in the film. The chemistry of both was appreciated by the audience and therefore the film also benefits a lot from word of mouth. This is director Keertheeswaran’s first directorial venture, but the way he has presented a sensitive subject in an entertaining manner is commendable. The music of the film also became popular among the people. As for the opening of ‘Death’ at the box office, trade analysts believe that there will be a further increase in the film’s earnings by the weekend, especially due to the festive atmosphere and holidays. If the film continues to attract the audience to the theater like this, it can touch a collection of more than Rs 30 crore in the first weekend. –IANS PK/AS Share this story Tags
