Pramono calls for all roads under the Jakarta toll road to be greened into public spaces

Jakarta – DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung plans to green all areas under the capital’s toll roads. The plan is part of efforts to expand Green Open Space (RTH) in Jakarta. Pramono conveyed this step after inaugurating the Kalibata Village RTH, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Friday (24/10/2025). During the event, he asked the Parks and City Forest Service to utilize unused spaces such as under toll roads, bridges and catchment areas to become active parks. “I will ask that all the roads under the toll road be greened. We will work with companies that have an obligation to help create landscape in Jakarta,” said Pramono. Meanwhile, the Kalibata Village RTH inaugurated today stands in the catchment area near Situ Babakan. The land of 5,000 square meters is combined with the old RPTRA which is 1,500 square meters in size, bringing the total to 6,500 square meters of green space that residents can use for sports and recreation. “And in this place there is a catchment area, a place to store water in case of flooding because behind it is Situ Babakan, and which is then used as a green open space,” he said. Pramono added that the DKI Provincial Government is also encouraging a creative financing scheme so that park development is not entirely dependent on the APBD. “We encourage development like this to be carried out in all areas, not just on the main road,” he added.
