Jakarta – DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has agreed to form a task force to accelerate the revitalization of the Kota Tua area, West Jakarta. This task force will involve the central government, BUMN, and the private sector. Pramono conveyed this after inspecting the Old City Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Area and Development, West Jakarta together with the Minister of Investment and Downstream Rosan Roeslani on Saturday (18/10/2025). Pramono emphasized that the revitalization of the Old City cannot be carried out by the local government alone. “We want to make improvements to the Old City together with the central government in a structured way. We agreed earlier to have a task force consisting of the central government, the Jakarta government. Later there will definitely be BUMN, BUMD and the private sector,” Pramono said. Pramono said that cross-sector work is necessary for regional planning to be effective. “This task force will outline what is the responsibility of regional governments, what is the responsibility of central government, and then what will be opened up for private involvement,” he explained. As an initial stage, the DKI Provincial Government will deal with basic infrastructure improvements in 2026. From roads, rivers, to footpaths in the heritage area. Meanwhile, Investment and Downstream Minister Rosan Roeslani expressed the central government’s full support for the revival of Kota Tua. Rosan said that a number of buildings belonging to BUMN, such as Mandiri, PT Pos Indonesia and PT KAI, will be part of the initial phase of arrangement. “We will first start to restore buildings that are under BUMN, still referring to heritage building regulations,” said Rosan.
