Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old student who suspected he killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was placed under Special Watch in the Utah County prison as the authorities weighing concerns about his mental state. Robinson, who is facing charges of aggravating murder, dismissal of firearm and the impediment of justice, is monitored 24/7 in a special housing unit, the office of the Utah County sheriff told TMZ on Saturday. The jail officials said the classification assured the oversight of security cameras and staff oversight. Mental health workers judge whether Robinson is suicide. Robinson allegedly told his father that he would rather die than surrender to the police. The assassination of Charlie Kirk The attack unfolded at Utah Valley University on September 10 during Kirk’s “Proves Me Wrong” segment of his American Comeback Tour. Kirk, 31, answered a question about transgender mass shooters when he was hit by a single gun round in the neck. Authorities say the shooter is located on a roof on campus before fleeing to the nearby forest through a parking lot. Footage later showed a masked figure in dark clothing that escaped from the scene. Father allegedly acknowledged the suspect Robinson’s father, Matt, in his son in supervision photos released by the authorities and confronted him. The confrontation, together with FBI leaders, contributed to the identification of Robinson as the first suspect. Discord Chat Mockery In the hours after the shooting, Robinson allegedly made a joke about the attack in a private discord group of about 20 people. He claimed to be his ‘doppelganger’ to get him in trouble. Another user wrote: “Tyler killed Charlie !!!” One group member even suggested to enable Robinson for the FBI’s $ 100,000 reward, to which he allegedly replied: “Only if I get a cut.”
