New Delhi, October 23 (IANS). Delhi government is busy with preparations for ‘Chhath Puja 2025’ on war footing. This year, grand and historic events are being organized at more than 1300 ghats in the capital. In this sequence, Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena and Arts, Culture and Language Minister Kapil Mishra conducted a joint inspection of Vasudev Ghat on Thursday. During the inspection, both the leaders instructed the concerned departments that all the arrangements for cleanliness, lighting, security and traffic management should be completed on time so that the devotees do not face any kind of inconvenience. Senior officials of Delhi Government, Municipal Corporation and other departments were present on this occasion. After the inspection, Minister Kapil Mishra said, “This year’s celebration of Chhath Puja in Delhi is going to be the most massive and grand event ever. Our aim is that the devotees should have a clean, safe and culturally rich experience.” He said that this government is not a government of words but a government of deeds. This is the first Chhath Puja of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s government and for the first time the resolution of worshiping on the banks of Yamuna will be fulfilled. It is a proud moment for Delhi that devotees will be able to offer prayers on the banks of Yamuna in the traditional way. Kapil Mishra said that the previous government deliberately banned Chhath Puja. He alleged that Kejriwal insulted the people of Purvanchal but this time the people of Purvanchal will celebrate their festival with pride and self-respect. He said that Chhath Puja was banned on the banks of Yamuna for the last six years but this time it is not so. Now the Delhi government stands with every devotee and is committed to honor their faith festival. Let us tell you that this year the Delhi government has made preparations to organize Chhath Puja at more than 1300 ghats including the Yamuna banks. Special priority is given to lighting, tents, security arrangements and cleanliness drives at all sites. –IANS ASH/DKP Share this story Tags
