Prime Minister Modi meets President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, wishes Diwali

New Delhi, October 20 (IANS). On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President CP Radhakrishnan. During this courtesy call, the Prime Minister extended Diwali greetings. Prime Minister Modi reached Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday evening and met Draupadi Murmu. Rashtrapati Bhavan posted from its official ‘X’ handle, which read: “President Narendra Modi meets President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and wishes Diwali.” After this he went to meet Vice President CP Radhakrishnan. PM Modi also offered prayers here. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan in the ‘ Earlier, Prime Minister Modi celebrated Diwali with the soldiers on board INS Vikrant. The Prime Minister said that the glow of sunlight on the sea is like the lamps lit by the brave soldiers during Diwali, creating a divine garland of lamps. He said that it is my good fortune to celebrate this Diwali among the brave soldiers of the Indian Navy. On his time spent on INS Vikrant, Prime Minister Modi said that it is difficult to put this experience into words. He told that the deep night and sunrise in the sea made this Diwali memorable in many ways. From INS Vikrant, the Prime Minister extended warm Diwali wishes to all the 140 crore citizens of the country. On the moment of handing over INS Vikrant to the nation, Prime Minister Modi said, “Vikrant is not a warship. It is a testament to the hard work, talent, impact and commitment of 21st century India.” He recalled that the day the nation received the indigenously built INS Vikrant, the Indian Navy renounced a key symbol of its colonial legacy.
