His compassion and speed during disaster relief and rescue operations reflect the best traditions of service and humanity. He wrote in the ‘Let us tell you that Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was written on 24 October 1962 after the India-China war. This force guards the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China. The force was formed with four battalions in the first week of the 1962 war, with the objectives of gathering intelligence, fighting conventional and guerrilla warfare, and improving Indian communications systems along the Chinese border. It was formed under the CRPF Act. It participated in the 1965 and 1971 wars between India and Pakistan. The ITBP was reorganized in 1978 to include nine service battalions, four specialist battalions and two training centres. The founding officer of the ITBP was Lieutenant Colonel Naseeb Singh of the Indian Army, who was also the founding officer of the 4th Battalion of the 9 Gorkha Regiment of the Indian Army.
