Nikant Jain, who is accused of taking bribes and involvement in corruption in the name of a prominent IAS officer in the capital Lucknow, is bail. Special Judge Satyendra Singh of the prevention of corruption ordered the accused Nikant Jain to be released from prison on a personal bond of two Lakh calls and a personal band of two Lakh calls. According to the prosecution, Nikant Jain took a bribe of Rs 1 crore in the name of an IAS officer of Wadi Vishwajit Dutta’s company to draw up a solar power manufacturing unit. After the case came to light, police arrested Nikant Jain and jailed them on March 20. No alleged bribes were found. However, Nikant Jain’s lawyer demanded bail, saying that the accused is not a civil servant, and therefore the computer law cannot be imposed against him.
