Chandigarh, October 18 (IANS). Punjab PRTC and PUNBUS employees announced chakka jam across Punjab on 23 October. He accused the state government of negligence. IANS, PRTC and PUN bus union president Resham Singh Gill said the Aam Aadmi Party government came to power promising to stop privatisation, but is now ignoring the interests of government officials to favor corporate houses. Due to this they face problems. He said that on October 23, the government will open a tender for the privatization of PRTC and Pune Bus, which we oppose, because if that tender is opened, then the private bus owner will take the money for five buses in 5 years and also take his own bus. As a result, the government will suffer loss. The government should do something for its buses. Resham Singh Gill said if the government opens the tender, we will strike. Apart from that, Tarn Taran will go to the elections and campaign against the government. We played a major role in bringing this government. Now we will tell the government that we, who can contribute to bringing you, can now also remove you from power. The employees also expressed anger over the delay in payment of their salaries. He says that even on occasions like Diwali, he had to close the bus stand and take salary, and the salary that was supposed to be received on 1st is received on 20-25th. In such a situation, their economic condition will worsen due to privatization. The employees demanded the government to immediately withdraw the decision of privatization. Resham Singh said that the Punjab government is harassing us. Whatever promises he made at the time of elections, he did not fulfill them. If the Punjab government does not accept our demands, they may have to suffer heavy losses in the Tarn Taran elections. –IANS –SAK/DKP Share this story Tags
