Puducherry: NIA attacks in Willianur Bomb Blast case, arrested two accused

Puducherry, September 18 (IANS). The National Investigations Agency (NIA) attacked four places in Puducherry on Thursday. After this, the NIA team arrested two accused in the 2023 Willianur Bomb Blast case. One of these places was the central prison of the Union area. The accused was identified as Heram aka Kartikeyan alias tr and udayakumar alias kumar. He was arrested for sensitive information. In this case, a political activist Senthil Kumar was brutally murdered. At about 9:30 pm that evening, six attackers on the bike threw a Desi bom to target the victim in Willianur and then killed him with knives and swords. NIA investigation revealed that both the arrested accused have conspiracy to get the names, identity and mobile numbers of protected witnesses with the most important accused Nityanandam alias Niti. Nii, along with Niti, submitted a charge page in this case on 12 other people on September 21, 2023. Niti is currently in the Yanam Jail, while the other accused are in the Puducherry Central Jail, Calpet. During the investigation, recent intelligence information revealed that Niti and his associates illegally acquired the names and identity of the protected witnesses in the bomb blast and murder case. It is alleged that this information was used to threaten witnesses and disrupt the legal process and impede justice. Based on this information, the NIA did a coordinated attacks in the Central Prison Kalpet and Yanam Jail as well as two other places. The teams seized cell phones, SIM cards and other offensive documents, including documents that identified protected witnesses. The agency still detects the most important criminal conspiracy behind the murder and continues to investigate the identity of safe witnesses by violating Articles 17 of the NIA Act and section 44 of the Act, 1967.
